Vocalists
Vocal physiotherapy encompasses treatment of the myofascial and cartilaginous structures of the larynx and the surrounding peri-laryngeal region you use to create and control your voice.
Anyone who uses their voice repetitively can suffer from symptoms due to fatigue and muscular tension. We often see maladaptive patterns of vocal muscular recruitment along with deficits in trunk range of motion, postural endurance and breathing patterns.
Helping vocalists is not just limited directly to their voice but also their general body health and fitness.
If you’re not sure whether you could benefit from some vocal Physiotherapy, get in touch and we can discuss your concerns.
Common symptoms are:
Huskiness
Increase effort to speak or sing
Loss of vocal range
Throat tension or pain
Headaches and facial tension

There is one thing I should say, and it’s important: Young Broadway singers and anybody who is an orator of any kind – lawyers who have to speak in court or pastors or anyone who has a lot of stress on their vocal cords: You should do the maintenance. You should do whatever it takes to feel fresh and good.
